Re: Charlie Fender handling ads on sunscapervresort.com

I understand there have been some questions regarding Charlie Fender handling our website ads and more importantly where the money for these ads is going. I hope I can clear up your questions with this note.

First of all, Dave Fender, Charlie’s son is our webmaster for this site. When an ad is placed we give Dave $5.00 for putting the ad on line. The rest of the money is turned into the Computer Club. The Computer Club makes about $1000.00 a year from these ads. We also give David the huge sum of $300.00 each spring so he can take his wife out for a very nice dinner.

Having Charlie receive the money for the ads is our way of making sure all ads are paid for when they are put on the website. Charlie keeps a very accurate account of all the ad monies and of all the ads that we have posted. He will be sending ad money to me and I will be turning it into Fran for the Computer Club account.

This season the Computer Club purchased the following with our money:

• New web program for the Emmels - $400.00+
• New internet hard drive for our sunscapervresort.info site - $150.00
• New VCR/DVD player for large TV in Activity Center - $76.00
• Printer cartridges for our printers - $300.00
• Materials for posters and tickets for Sunscape Activities - $200.00
• We also purchased miscellaneous small items for the Club.

Our problems are:

• We don’t have anyone to take over the sunscapervresort.com website that will work for the pittance we give David.
• We don’t have a volunteer that will spend the amount of time that Charlie spends getting our ads on and off the web.

If the Board believes that this ad money should be put in the General Fund, we will arrange to do this next season.
