Wayne Scramstad, BODOLD BUSINESS:
1. Reminder of "Safety Committee Procedure" whereby members identify safety concerns "IN WRITING".2. Installation of a signaling device in the "Pool Area" if someone requires assistance......
According to our committee liaison W. Scramstad, plans are in place to install EMERGENCY 911 (ONLY) in the pool area; also the AC, CC & CH this month.3. Contact Sunscape BOD to have our park attorney draft a "Volunteer Disclaimer" for "All" volunteers concerning park liability in event of an accident.
*This has been on our committee agenda since 1/15/08 with no action. It is our committee's request that the BOD inquire with our attorney as to legality of such a disclaimer or does Sunscape need to have a "Volunteer Training Program" and have the volunteer sign a release that they have had training and will not hold Sunscape liable in event of an accident. (We're in need of our attorney's opinion on this!)4. Investigate the possibility of a "Caution Light" on the side or top of the pillar at the Welcome Gate as a visual aid to signal the the gate is opening, Open or in the closing mode of operation. (Larry Eginoire no longer exploring the possibility because the new gate's have "electric eye's" and will not close on anyone pausing in the entrance.)
NEW BUSINESS:
1. The Safety Committee had a discussion of overall security at Sunscape, since there have been reports of 2 break-ins here, 6 at Wildhorse and 46 up in Apache Junction this summer. The committee feels we have a very safe and secure park, especially with the addition of our "Block Watch" program. It is suggested however, that those who have gates around the perimeter of the park, padlock them. It is also requested that any instances of property being stolen, be reported to the manager immediately.ADJOURN: 1:45 PM . . . . . MOTION: Dale Schoeneberger . . . . SECOND: J. J. Schmitz
