August Happenings

Good Morning Everyone,

It appears that the monsoon is over for the time being. We have had 6 days under 100', and a good deal of rain, but today the sun is shining and we are probably going to get back to 100' again. It has been wonderful to go out and walk in the rain, and I have even seen people outside in the middle of the day this past week. No one has been out at that time since May !!!!!!

The "destruction" of the bathrooms is all done but the cleanup. Don is working with the concrete person to get started soon.

Bill (our summer maintenance guy) has been working very hard getting the place all spruced up. The parking lot stripping is just about done, and the street markings are done. There is a new blue handicap parking space right by the front door of the clubhouse that is van accessible. With correct measuring, he was able to get 8 regular parking spaces in front in addition to the handicap space. The East side of the building will be done by the end of this week, weather permitting.

The palm trees in the grass area west of the clubhouse were trimmed a few weeks ago, so they look much better, and it got rid of the bee problem we were having.

Saturday Night at the Movies is still going well. We have been seeing old and new movies alike. Last week was "The Over The Hill Gang", and next will be The Terminal starring Tom Hanks.

Enjoy your summer, and we look forward to seeing you all in the fall. Harriet
