June Happenings

Mon., 12 Jun 2006

Good Morning Everyone,
I hope your summer is going well, and you are enjoying yourselves.

Things are moving along here at Sunscape. The permits are all issued for the bathroom remodel, so the work should start by July 1. Starting on Monday, June 19th we will move the morning Coffee Club to the Activity Center, and also the Tuesday potlucks. The Activity Center has been busy this summer anyway with Saturday Night At The Movies. We have food at 6 pm, a movie at 7 pm, and end the evening with desert and conversation at about 9 pm. I think we should be calling it Dinner and a Movie.

The "new" fire truck got here on Sunday morning. It looks real good, and we will make sure it is all serviced and ready to go real soon.

I am THRILLED to announce that we have a new Activity Director for the season. Arlene and her husband Mike will be here by September 15th with a lot of great new things for us this year. They are coming to us with a history of helping people have fun. I can hardly wait to work with them.

I suppose you all saw us on the national news when we had the dust storm last week. A few places had some minor damage, but nothing serious. The most of it was some awning trim blew off, some flower pots blew away, and the swimming pool was VERY DIRTY. The front door to the clubhouse blew open, so Diane had to spend 4 hours cleaning up, but that was about all.

We have a workamper here for the summer helping with the maintenance. He has been trimming bushes, helping Dennis with some water problems, and he has started to get the markings on the streets repainted. He will also be working on a way to have more visible numbers at each space.

That's it for now. Enjoy your summer.

Harriet
