September Happenings

Good Morning Everyone,
It looks like the long, hot summer is finally coming to an end. The temperature is staying below 100 most days now, and the nights are in the 70s. The rain has brought out the mosquitos, but with dry weather coming again, they will soon be gone.

Lots of folks are starting to get back home to Sunscape. Tom tells me we now have almost 100 active mailboxes. There were only 50 over the summer. It is so good to see lights again, and people out riding bikes, etc. Tom Hudson is back handling the mail as Dick has been in hospital, and will be recovering for a while.

You all know the phrase "no news is good news" ? Well, there have been no new developments with the sewer. Our engineer is working hard gathering information from the county, and from the state, on any purchase of the property and plans for any improvements. The information is coming to her in bits and pieces, so she is waiting to get it organized into something we can make sense of before presenting it to us. I am in contact with her weekly, so things are moving along. I have asked if she can come out to a meeting here in the park to answer questions, and will inform you all of a date when this can happen.

The bathroom is coming along. The plumber will be here again next week, so progress is being made.

The bookkeeper (Joann) get here last week, and the activity director (Arlene) came in on Monday. Bonnie and Dale have been here for a week or so, so we are amost up to a full staff again. The other two workamper couples will be here in October.

We look forward to having all of you back home soon.
