The Management Team
Background
In March, 2009 during the Annual Board of Directors Workshop, the cooperative organization was discussed. The concept of a Management Team was explored with a decision to build teamwork among the Standing Committees and having the Park Manager lead the team. The first meetings began shortly after that Workshop. An Organization Management Policy provides the existing structure by which the Park will be managed. It defines the reporting lines of responsibility. The Management Team may make recommendation for organization changes.
Expectation
The Management Team, under the leadership of the Park Manager, has the responsibility for the operation of the park. The Management Team consists of the Standing Committee Chairs and/or Vice-Chairs, the BOD Liaison, and the Park Manager. Other individuals may be included in the Team because of their specific skills or interest. It is the responsibility of the Management Team to determine who should be included in the team.
The Management Team will meet a minimum of twice per month, to provide input to the Park Manager and the other Team members relative to their key issues. This cross-functional sharing gives an opportunity to coordinate with others who may have a role to play in having a successful outcome in the resolution of issues. Question and answer dialog among the group is intended and is expected to result in more effective problem solving, and better decisions made for the operation of the park.
The Park Manager will use each Committee Charter as the tool for placement of assignments and can use a Delegation Model discussed in Workshops to reach understanding of “responsibility and authority” given to Committees. These tools generally understood by all participants in Workshops are useful in both general and specific execution of Team and Committee activities.
The Management Team is delegated the responsibility from the BOD to resolve Park operational issues, and when appropriate recommend actions to be taken to the Board for a policy decision or for board approval. This will include earmarked funding to support plans.
The Team will support the work of all Standing, Special and Ad hoc Committees in the park.
The Park Manager will rely on input from the Team to ensure that the park is safe, secure and enjoyable.
The Park Manager will administer and monitor an Action Review Form System (ARF) to track action items requested for resolution from all sources, including Team members.
The Park Manager will make monthly reports to the BOD and to the membership using the Town Hall format.
