SUNSCAPE RV RESORT
Medical Response Team Meeting
November 1, 2006

The Medical Response Team meeting was held at 9:00 am on Wednesday, November 1, 2006 in the Activity Building conference room.

Present were: Mary Ann Fender, Ron Stockall, G.H. Sublett, Damon Hillery, Isobel Gordon, and Joyce Bingenheimer.

The Response Team list of members is being verified as to member’s lot and phone numbers.  Beepers were issued to members that had not yet received their beeper for this season.

The recent newspaper article regarding rattlesnake bites treatment was reviewed and discussed.  This article will be placed in the First Aid Manual on the medical cart for future reference.

We are needing an updated CPR film with the current standards.  Funds will be taken from the Medical Donation fund to purchase this.  (The Medical Donation Fund is the money received from donations for blood pressure checks and other monies received from park members.  These funds are used for needed items for the Response Team or for other park needs.)

Members were asked to think of what they would like to review and practice during this season.  CPR and AED application will be reviewed next month. Joyce Bingenheimer shared her recent “find” of a retractable chain and clip to go on the beeper to secure it to the clothing.  We will look into getting these for the beepers for those wanting them.

With the Fire Team meeting this afternoon we will have a beeper check to make sure all are working.  A call was placed with the Transcend phone service to insure that this service would work with the beepers and it was successful.  The park residents with this service will be able to place emergency calls the same way as with the Qwest phone lines.  Ambulance directions will have to be given at the time of the call as they will not be able to detect the location of the call with this phone service.

Respectfully submitted,

Mary Ann Fender, Chairman, Medical Response Team
