SUNSCAPE RV RESORT
Medical Response Team Meeting
April 4, 2007
Summary for March 2007
We had 2 medical calls. We also had 4 false alarm calls within one week.
Meeting summary:
Mary Ann Fender called the meeting to order in the Conference Room at 9:00 am.
Present were: Joyce Bingenheimer, C.H. Grubb, Damon Hillery, Ron Stockall and Gene Wallace, Board liaison.
The placement of the Medical Cart was discussed. It is now in the same stall as the fire truck in the Maintenance Building. Concern has been expressed that it may cause some delay getting the cart to the emergency scene with that location. It was suggested that it be kept under an overhang at the Clubhouse for the summer months and has now been returned to the west side as before.
After the false alarms we began exploring other avenues to call in emergencies after meeting with the county sheriff over these false calls. It is being pursued to use the 911 call and they would then dispatch our Response Team. We are also looking at changing the beepers to a different company and will coordinate the 911 and beeper change.
Another CPR and First Aid class is being held on April 17th, primarily to train our team members and Manager. Interest has been shown by other residents that are here during the summer months and they will be able to join this class if desired.
Beepers are to be turned in to Bud Bingenheimer when leaving for the summer. When Bud leaves the park the beepers will be left with the Manager.
The defibrillator trainer has been sent in for updates and should be back within a week. Reviews will be held in the fall.
It is hoped that the park will obtain insurance for our volunteers should injury occur while volunteering services. After talking with our insurance agent it was determined that there is only $5000.00 coverage for medical expenses if injured.
Respectfully submitted,
Mary Ann Fender, Medical Team Chairman
