SUNSCAPE RV RESORT

Medical Committee Meeting

February 6, 2008

The Medical meeting was held in the Conference Room at 9:00 am attended by the following members: Ron Anderson, Howard Caires, Mary Ann Fender, Pat Gernon, Isobel Gordon, Dennis Harvey, Lou Hicks, Damon and Lorna Hillery, Betty Livingston, Ron Stockall and Gene Wallace, Board Liaison. The responses again show that our pagers are in good working order.

Mary Ann Fender requested that a second person be on the list to order supplies from the two medical donation accounts as well as the medical supplies. Howard Caires volunteered as the second person as he is here all year.

There will be a CPR review for members desiring to participate on February 16th at 1 pm in the computer room following the CPR class. Pagers will be set off to remind members of this activity.

Howard Caires, Property Committee Chairman, asked what should be done with the old pagers that are now defunct. He is going to follow through with the disposal of those units.

Means of identifying Response Members responding to a call was discussed. It was decided that reflective vests be issued to all members to put over their clothing for safety as well as identifying members. A group picture is also going to be taken and posted so park members will know who is on the team. Ron Stockall is going to arrange for this picture to be taken. Park members are asked to be understanding of our responders haste in getting to the scene of our emergencies, move aside to allow us to pass through and not shout at us to “slow down”. We are trying to help save lives and/or assist persons in an emergency situation.

Lou Hicks and Mary Ann Fender will set up some practice scenarios of emergencies that could occur utilizing both fire and medical responders.

Howard Caires also volunteered to handle the pagers during the summer months.

Gene Wallace announced that this was his last meeting with us as his Board term is ending. We have appreciated his attendance and support all these years and will miss him.

Respectfully submitted,

Mary Ann Fender, Medical Team Chairman
