BACKGROUND & PURPOSE:
The Safety and Security Committee was defined within the by-laws as a “standing committee” when the need for safety was recognized within the park. The Safety/Security Committee was entered into the bylaws for the purpose of promoting safe and liability free conditions within the park for the benefit of all members and renters. Security has become a concern in recent years and a “Block Watch” program was started and now is an integral part of this committee.
COMMITTEE STRUCTURE:
- For 2010/11 season the Safety and Block Committees were combined to form the Safety/Security Committee. See Encl #1 - Safety & Security Committee Roster
- An election of Committee Officers is held annually and members are recruited from the general membership.
MISSION STATEMENT:
We will provide the highest quality Safety accountability for the benefit of all persons, in partnership with the Sunscape Estates RV Park Cooperative and in harmony with the Board of Directors Strategic Objectives.
ORGANIZATIONAL REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
- The Safety/Security Committee reports to the Park Manager and/or the Board of Directors as appropriate.
- An assigned Board Liaison Member is an integral communication link for this committee.
- The Safety/Security Chairman (or designee) participates in “The Management Team” lead by the Park Manager to aid in the networking of business operations and decision making.
- By authority of the by-laws, this committee will report monthly to the Board of Directors and will prepare an annual report to the membership to be delivered, orally and/or in written form at the annual meeting.
- The committee maintains minutes and follows an agenda. The minutes are provided to the Sunscape webmaster, which in turn places the minutes on the Sunscape Web Page. Additionally, the current Safety/Security Minutes are posted in the Sunscape Club House on the Safety Bulletin Board.
- Other internal communication is conducted through website, e-mail, and memorandum.
- The Safety/Security Committee submits an itemized budget to the Finance Committee each fiscal year. Additionally, budget rationale is provided for carrying out the Board of Directors goals and providing justification for the Safety and Security Committees Short and Long Range Objectives.
